Time for a dose of Grace!

I know that it has been a long time since I updated Grace's blog, but she has developed so much! She has learned new words, new tricks and has grown so much.

After Spring Break, we were able to take her to El Paso to visit Jeff's mom and step-dad, formerly known as Grandma and Gordy-on. While we were there, Grace renamed them Nandy and PaPa! Lynne met us at the airport with her arms filled with gifts for Grace, including some yummy candy. Over the next few days, Grace always knew she could go to Grandma for some "nandy" (her version of the word candy). Before we knew it, Grace was actually calling Lynne, Nandy. What a cute name! We called Gordon Grandpa one time and she started calling him PaPa...and boy is she attached to her PaPa and Nandy.

For Easter, Uncle Ryan and Jeanie, Justin M. and Grandad Jack and Mimi all came over. Grace was once again the center of attention and had a great time getting all her goodies. She actually got 2 different baskets. After church (where we all froze in our Spring attire), everyone came over to our home for dinner and then games.

Poppy got pretty sick on Easter and was admitted to the hospital, so Grace and I prepared for a journey to Shreveport. She and I rode the Amtrak Train there. She loved every minute of it. I'm telling you, it sure beats her being stuck in a car seat for hours on end. Now, when she sees a train, she pumps her fist in the air and says. "Choo-choo!"

Grace did really well for the long visits in the hospital. She is such a well behaved child (for the most part!). Her Aunt Sharri and Cousin Sarah took her to Chucky Cheese and to their house where she got to play with mini-horses, dogs and more. She had a great time playing in the dog kennel and when I went to pick her up, she locked me inside it!

I felt bad for the long hours that Grace was inside the hospital, so we rode the train back to Austin. She went to visit her Granddad Jack and Mimi for 4 days and then her Nandy came up for several more, while I returned to Shreveport. She had a wonderful time playing with her grandparents and being spoiled rotten.

I am back in Austin for a while...hopefully, Poppy will get his transplant and be out of the hospital soon!

She has had so many new words, that I can't even remember all of them. She does call herself Grace (Race) now. She calls several other people by name (Ba-Bra - Barbara, Nandy's friend; Ya-ya - Cousin Sarah; Ate - Kate, her BFF). Her favorite food is bubber (peanut butter) and would eat it at every meal if she could. She loves Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go the most right now. She enjoys watching full length cartoons now, like Finding Nemo...but always cuddles up on me saying Uh-Oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh during the scary parts.

Grace's 2nd birthday is coming up! I can't believe that she will already be 2. Her party will be held on the 30th instead of her actual birthday for a ton of reasons. So, if you can come, just let us know!
