Spring Break 2007

We have been so busy since the last post! Grace's cousin, her Nonni and her Poppy came to visit for Spring Break! The week went by so quickly and, boy, was it jammed packed with fun events! We went to Fiesta Texas (twice), the underground caverns in San Marcos, a petting zoo, a play and pizza place (where we discovered Grace loves to golf), the Alamo, the Rain Forrest Cafe and many other places. We even totaled a car and bought a new one! (No one was injured, thank God!).

Grace did so well with all the traveling and in the absence of her routine. She had a great time every where we went. At 6 Flags, she loved every ride she was allowed on. The faster and higher, the better! A couple of the rides she didn't want to get off and literally threw herself down on the ground when we made her get off! The flying school bus and the carousel seemed to be her favorites.

I was worried that in the caverns she would be scared, being in the dark. Man, was I wrong! She wanted down and wanted to do all the climbing by herself. She is so independent! If I picked her up, she would get frustrated with me. As long as I allowed her to walk and climb on her own, she was happy. And dirty! :)

At Austin Park and Pizza, she rode the little carousel for about 10 minutes straight. Then she discovered the game of golf! We got her a club and ball for the miniature golf course. She totally got that she was supposed to hit the ball with the club and that the ball was supposed to go into the hole and the she was supposed to go to the next green. She would whack at her ball, then go put it in the hole! She loved it so much that she wouldn't give the ball back at the end of the game!

During all of this, she added more words to her vocabulary. Fox, Boots (from Dora the Explorer), Swiper (again from Dora), diaper and a few others. I was so busy that I didn't write them down like I should have. She was cutting teeth the last time I wrote. She now has 2 of her 4 canine teeth poking through. The other 2 are pretty swollen and I think will cut soon.

Oh, and she decided today that she didn't want to wear a diaper. So, I put her in some big girl underpants for about an hour and a half. She sat on the potty every 15 minutes during that time. She didn't go in the potty, but she is learning about it. She also didn't have an accident. Who knows...maybe it won't be long before she is potty trained!
